Hamilton Square opened with 25,000 square feet for the then Southern Furniture
Market in April 1986. Hamilton Square has expanded to 113,000 square feet and now
has established permanent exhibitors. Hamilton Square’s convenient location in the
center of market opens the prestigious Hamilton Street corridor.

In January 2006 Hamilton Square was purchased by McDonald Properties to
compliment The Mill on Centennial which McDonald would open in April 2007.
McDonald’s goal is to create a premier location for better lines in a great central
location at Market. To that goal improvements to the building include lobby renovation,
bathroom renovation, new windows at nine showroom locations, new entrance for easy
access to The Mill and parking, and paving entire parking area. A long time member of
the Hamilton Wrenn Design District, Hamilton Square is now a member of the High
Point Design Center, an association of showrooms open year round to the interior
design trade. Nine showrooms now participate in the High Point Design Center.

General Manager, Eddie Forward, has been with Hamilton Square since April 1986.
His experience and understanding of the High Point Market and the furniture industry is
invaluable in helping exhibitors with their market experience. “My goal first is to help
each exhibitor understand our market and what is needed for them to make High Point
work. That includes me knowing each company’s marketing strategy and goals for High
Point. Then I look for the best location. It is not always Hamilton Square. That’s fine. We
do not lease space just to lease space. In the long run, it is better for everyone.
McDonald has made a commitment to our current exhibitors to only add companies that
compliment our current base. Our base exhibitors have been very pleased with our
process of being more selective.”

Along with furniture market showroom needs, McDonald Properties has 30 years of
experience in providing warehousing, office space, factories and condos in the High
Point Triad Area.
